Tom H means RBI's.
You know who else had 100 RBI's? Tony Armas, in a year where he had a .300 OBP. Like Francoeur.

What does "run producer" even mean? If you are only getting on base 30% of the time, you are hardly effective in contributing to the team scoring.

Tom, your opinions are appreciated here but your tone is not. Clearly, by citing WAR, Evan_S was providing substance to his argument. You're welcome to argue against the stat's merit, but it's hard to accuse him of not having substance to his argument when his argument was entirely based on substance.

The A's struggles in recent years are often used to rally against the use of the so-called "Moneyball" stats like OBP, but just because Beane has been unable to put together great teams lately does not mean the stats are bad. The A's finished 11th of 14 AL teams in OBP this year.

The top four? The Yankees, Red Sox, Angels and Twins.

Also, who has the better track record as a run producer? Oh, Francouer again? I don't understand some people who make insist on making asinine, meaningless arguments.

What the hell is .WAR? You guys are morons. Francoeur is light years better than Church, with far more potential. Even when the evidence is staring you in the face (who had a better year? Who had a better second half? Francoeur on both counts, that's who.) you're stubbornly sticking by your guns. Look, I know Mets-bashing is in fashion, but at least have some substance to your arguments.

.WAR. Please. If walks and .OBP meant everything, how come Billy Bean's Oakland A's have yet to win the World Series? Oh, is it because Zito, Mulder, and Hudson aren't pitching there anymore? Could be, could be.

The Church/Francouer trade was a damn steal for the Mets. It'll go down as one of the worst trades in Braves history. You'll see.

Church - .5 WAR with the Braves

I'd take Church over Franoeur any day

Yes thats the stuff I guess. I gave up Taco Bell after college (not my choice, my body gave me no other option), so I've never had the good fortune to try the newer stuff. I think the last thing I ate there was a cruch wrap back in 2004 sometime.
